Two Good Arms - Snowpiercer Painting

Description

July 1, 2014 - Happy Snowpiercer Day!

This might be spoilery to anyone who has not seen the movie Snowpiercer (though I've tried to keep it minimal).
If you get the chance, you should definitely watch it.
I was thinking about the scene a lot where Curtis and Gilliam talk about Curtis' two good arms. I wondered about the scar. And this thought has not let me alone:

Although the time of chaos and panic of "before"and the introduction of the protein bars are in the distant past now, Curtis' scar still looks pink and fresh and gets increasingly knarled and pronounced over time. Every now and then, Gilliam looks at it  and says that it has healed well and the wound looks better. Edgar wonders about it sometimes, but it is not like Curtis is forthcoming with information on a good day, so he is left in the dark.
But the fact is that, whenever he is worried or angry or feels particularly guilty, Curtis will worry at the scar to the point that he gets through the skin and it opens and bleeds. And he welcomes that sight and the feeling of pain. But Gilliam will know when he has done it, and he will call him into his quarters and make him pull up his sleeve and pull away the dirty rag he put on the wound and then he will treat the wound with the bit of pure alcohol they distill out of rotten protein bars. The burn of the alcohol helps Curtis a bit, but after it subsides it will make him feel even worse. He still doesn't manage to rid himself of this habit.

I watched Snowpiercer back when it was showing in Germany in April. I still think about it a lot. If you want to talk about it, please do!
Oh, and if an author would like to write an alternative take on some particular things, just let me know. For some things, I'd contribute some art quite happily.

Painted in PS3, Bamboo Tablet
Disclaimer: I do not own the characters, but wouldn't I love to get my grip on them because I would bathe and clean them and treat their wounds and feed them and wrap them in blankets and put them somewhere warm ... this movie was devastating.
No money was made from this.

I favorited this painting YEARS ago and I finally got the chance to watch Snowpiercer. This painting has whole new meaning now. xD
